The police took the opportunity to assist in the delivery of Christmas hampers to those in Dubbo who are doing it a bit hard over the festive season.
“Police often have contact with community members when things are going wrong, so having the chance to assist the community in this way was a great relief from the usual daily duties of a police officer,” Inspector Dan Skelly said.
“The smiles and warms thanks received was a great reward to police delivering the hampers.”
More than 300 Christmas hampers were delivered in Dubbo, made possible through donations at a cost of about $22,000.
