Nestor had three winners in a second from his six rides, in what was a good day for Dubbo trainers and jockeys.
Trainers Justin Stanley and Connie Greig had winners, with young apprentice Chris Williams riding the latter’s Our Sarastro to victory.
Nestor began his day perfectly, winning onboard Justin McIntosh’s In A Spring ($4) in the day’s first race, the Merry Christmas Two-Year-Old Handicap (1000m).
After finishing in second place in the next event, Nestor was first past the post again in the Jingle Bells Maiden Handicap (1400m) when he teamed up with Stanley and his gelding Moqwao.
The four-year-old had failed to win in eight starts but when starting as a $2.50 favourite on Saturday he went on to win by a half-length.
The Dubbo hoop wrapped up his hat-trick in the Christmas Tree Class 1 and Maiden Plate (2050m).
Riding Wingleow for Mark Schmetzer, Nestor got to the front down the home straight and despite plenty of pressure won by half a length.
Our Sarastro bounced back from a disappointing ninth p[laced finish last start to win the Christmas Hams Mile Handicap (1600m).
