The self-confessed “Dubbo boy” is not channeling Adele, rather exposing a quest to “find myself as a human being in the world”.
Boy in the Bed is the “hero” of the exhibition at Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC) from Saturday until February
Mr Yap, born in the Philippines but raised in Dubbo, recalled on Thursday all the time he spent in bed, reflecting on his past and deciding his future. The art teacher at Dubbo College South Campus hopes the community and especially his students will relate to his “very personal and human” exhibition. Mr Yap, who became a WPCC volunteer at the age of 16, will officially open twenty-seven at 2pm.
