That included a barbecue at Dubbo’s Myall Street campus to celebrate the plan, which made history in June. TAFE Western was the first TAFE NSW institute to have a RAP approved by Reconciliation Australia.
TAFE Western’s RAP Working Party also released a music video – the RAP Rap – to mark the occasion.
“The RAP video has gone viral and we’ve fielded lots of congratulatory messages, not only from staff within TAFE Institutes, but from other people not associated with TAFE as well,” TAFE Western Director of Aboriginal Education and Equity Provision Rod Towney said.
“It was great to see so many staff get involved in today’s barbecue and really get behind the spirit of reconciliation.”
“The RAP may be less than six months old, but has already had a significantly positive impact on our staff, students and our local communities,” Acting Institute Director Adam Bennett added.
