The Hornets wound back the clock when beating the Western Plains Automotive Cougars last month, with a host of old faces coming out of the woodwork to play under lights at No. 1 Oval.
The move paid off as well, with the Hornets recording a 20-run win that night, with the likes of Richie Richardson and Rodney Morrison contributing.
Greg Rummans, who stood in as captain that night, said after the win his club was delighted to have the veterans playing and added Jarrod Simpson, Cameron Humphries and Andrew Zell were other who may feature during the season.
On Friday night the Hornets meet a Rugby side which lost its one match of the Megahit campaign so far.
Despite that loss to Christies Crackerjacks, Rugby has proven itself a more than handy Twenty20 side in recent years, finishing as runners-up last season, with the side’s depth and large number of all-rounders providing plenty of options. The likes of Jacob Bruce, Nick Karydis, Aidan Bennewith and James O’Brien have all played big roles for their side, while regulars Jordan Moran and Nathan Munro are two of the more destructive batsmen in the competition.
Play begins at 6.30pm.
