Dubbo Regional Council, alongside Dubbo CWA, the Pink Angels and Bear Cottage, have set up a gift wrapping station and chill out zone outside Dubbo Square.
For a gold coin donation per present, shoppers can sit back and relax in the air-conditioning, enjoy some cold water and have their gifts wrapped.
The chill out zone is open from 10am until 2pm weekdays until December 23, council’s Ignite coordinator Nicola Chandler said, with the money all going towards good causes.
“People can also put a wish on the tree for man kind or world peace or Tonka trucks,” she said.
CWA Dubbo branch president Tanya Perry said the donations they received would split the money they made from the wrapping and their cake stall and raffle between different groups in need.
Ms Perry said the chill out zone was a great idea by council as the heat made it hard for the CWA ladies to hold traditional street stalls.
