They’re searching for the remains of murdered Dubbo woman Lateesha Nolan, after a member of the public found a human leg bone late last month.
Following examinations and analysis, the bone was confirmed to belong to 24-year-old Ms Nolan, who went missing from her Dubbo home in January, 2005.
Police had blocked off access to the Angle Road boat ramp, with an excavator brought in to assist with the search.
Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said the man convicted of Ms Nolan’s murder, her cousin, Malcolm Naden, had been notified of the new development.
“We’ve spoken to him a number of times since [his arrest in] 2012,” Superintendent Willing said.
“If necessary we will do so again but we just need to see the way things roll out over the next couple of days and see what comes from that first.”
