Dozens of owners of rare and unique cars gather in Victoria Park on the first Sunday of every month for Dubbo Cars and Coffee, which organiser Owen De Carle described as an opportunity to get the cars of the garage.
Each meeting they take donations for the worthy cause.
“It’s a bit of a get-together for owners of special interest cars like hot rods, muscle cars and restored cars. We held the first one in July and we get a pretty good roll-up of around 60 cars and bikes,” Mr De Carle said.
“Everyone is very generous and donates what they can spare. The Motorcycles and Drivers Club also attend our meetings and they threw in $500.”
Mr De Carle said he chose Make-A-Wish as the recipients of the funding because he admired the work they did.
The club will take a break in January but will resume meetings in February.
