After tasting defeat for the first time this season last week, ladder-leaders Colts were rolled for 120 on Saturday on its way to losing by three wickets.
Batting first, Colts made a steady start and reached 2-40 after 11 overs but from there Rugby began to strike at regular intervals.
None of the top five made it to 20 and then Cayden McGrath ripped through the lower order.
After taking 0-22 from his first four overs, he began to wreck damage on the Colts lower order and finished with 4/31 from 6.3 overs as Colts was dismissed for 120.
Adlai Shipp (2/18) and Baye Wallace (2/22) were the other multiple wicket-takers while Will Grant (1/9 off five) was economical with the new ball.
Rugby began much the same as Colts and was 2-46 at one stage and while Sam Campbell (3/5) bowled well to the middle and lower order, the total he was defending was always a touch too low.
Max Rumble (28) and Grant (25) top scored in the successful run chase.
CYMS made it back-to-back thrilling wins on Saturday, with a 117 ninth wicket partnership saving the day.
After Newtown made 6-180 from its 40 overs, with Tim Beckenham (53), James Amey (34) and Wayne Dunlop (34 the top-scorers, CYMS was in all sorts of trouble at 8-51.
Dale O’Donnell had done all the damage for the Tigers, taking a fine 5-22 from eight overs and beating the Cougars batsmen with speed and movement.
But once his spell finished, Nathan Hawke and Yogi Chawla knuckled down from numbers nine and 10.
The pair came together with more than 20 overs still remaining in the match, and after toughing it out early on the runs began to flow.
The pair’s partnership went past 100 before Chawla (69) fell with 13 runs required.
Hawke got his side within reach and then number 11 Josh Thompson hit the winning runs to seal and amazing one wicket win with just two balls to spare.
Earlier, Daryl Thompson (2/11 off eight) had been the standout bowler for CYMS.
The final match of the round was played out at Lady Cutler 1 and it saw Macquarie gain further ground on Colts courtesy of a mammoth 120-run win over South Dubbo.
Macquarie made 212, with Blake Jones again getting among the runs on his way to top-scoring with 69.
Fellow opening bat Angus Norton (27) chipped in while Cody Hannelly (30) also made some valuable runs.
Neil Motbey was a standout for Souths with the ball, taking 4/24 from his eight overs, but very few of his teammates fired with the bat.
Every one of the Macquarie bowlers took at least one wicket as Souths was rolled for just 92.
Waseem Khan, Brant Mann and Blake, capping off a fine all-round individual match, all took two wickets each.
