Most other sides have been wary of the Tigers in recent years, with the Twenty20 format suiting the side’s power hitters and economical bowlers.
On Friday night at No. 1 Oval the Tigers meet Christies Crackerjacks, a side which also scored a win in its one match so far this season.
The Crackerjacks opened the Megahit season with a huge win over Rugby, inspired by a Jason Green century, and the left-hander will be key again on Friday night.
While captain Mat Skinner and brother Steve will again be vital for the Tigers, there is plenty of depth and power in the batting lineup with Dan Holland, Charlie Kempston, Dan French and Josh Battishall all capable of dominating an attack.
With the ball the Skinner brothers, including third sibling Tom, are proven bowlers in the Twenty20 game while Troy Tracey and Tom Barber provide more than handy back-up.
The Crackerjacks are again expected to rotate players and give some lower grade and younger cricketers a chance on the big stage. The action at No. 1 Oval begins at 6.30pm with the crowd catch offer jackpotting to $250.
