In NSW, 23,234 local birdwatchers submitted 16,353 checklists.
The lorikeet was the most counted. It also topped the national list for the third year.
Nationally, 1.4 million birds from 583 species were counted.
The top three were the Rainbow Lorikeet, Noisy Miner and Australian Magpie.
