The Salvos store has a new designated area called the Meeting Place where people can sit and enjoy a drink, a chat or even read a book.
As well as basic black or white coffee, customers can purchase brewed espressos, cappuccinos and lattes for a gold coin donation.
Soft drinks and flavoured milk are also available for prices set between $1.20 and $1.40.
Salvation Army store manager Lindsay Foggan said The Meeting Place provided somewhere to go for anyone at nearby shops as well as anyone looking for company.
“We get community groups like Westhaven bringing people in and we would love to see a lot more people coming in,” he said.
The Meeting Place is open to anyone between 9.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays and between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday.
It is located at 20 Cobbora Road.
All money raised from the venture will go back into helping the Salvation Army welfare office.
