Det Sup Willing, awarded the Australian Police Medal this year, was a special guest along with his parents who live in Dubbo.
Convenor of the committee that organises the annual lunch, Ruby Riach OAM, said 56 people turned out to the event at Dubbo RSL Memorial Club’s One 7 Eight Restaurant earlier this month.
She said the lunch was for recipients in the Dubbo region of not only Order of Australia Awards but “all Australian Medal Awards”.
Family and friends of recipients also took part in the celebration along with chairman of the association’s NSW branch committee John Archer OAM and co-ordinator of regional committees Garth Doyle OAM.
Among the crowd was newcomer, Judy Jakins AM.
