This year McHappy Day will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday, November 12.
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is encouraging all Western NSW residents to help raise a record-breaking $3.8 million this year by purchasing a $2 Helping Hand or a pair of Ronald Socks for $3, which are now available from local McDonald’s restaurants.
Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO Barbara Ryan said McHappy Day is the biggest fundraising event for RMHC and Helping Hands are a symbol of how RMHC programs are able to continue to provide much needed services and programs for families with children going through a serious illness.
“It really is through the help of individuals who extend their hand, either through donations or volunteer work, that has made RMHC what is it today,” she said.
Ms Rysan said every donation, large or small, has a positive effect on families faced with a child’s serious illness.
“I hope the local community will be happy to show their support in the lead up to McHappy Day,” she said.
