The Dubbo Regional Council says the department in collaboration with the Office of Environment and Heritage and with the support of the council, will host a workshop in Dubbo on November 15 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in the conference theatrette at the Dubbo RSL.
“The workshop will be beneficial to the local community as Dubbo is the second biggest installer of small-scale solar PV panel systems in NSW after Lismore, with more than 4700 systems installed to date according to the Australian Government Clean Energy Regulator,” Council’s Administrator Michael Kneipp said.
The workshop will provide information to premises receiving a 60c or 20c subsidised feed-in tariff about what is going to happen, plus information to understand how they can maximise benefits from their small-scale renewable energy systems after the scheme ends.
“An independent energy expert will explain how the changes to the feed-in tariff will affect you, what you need to do in the lead up to the closure and the important steps you need to take,” Mr Kneipp said.
The session will also cover a range of clean energy opportunities including: how to understand the different metering arrangements (i.e. gross and net) and the benefits; the emerging technologies to consider including battery storage and energy monitoring devices; and ways you can become more energy efficient to minimise your electricity bills and more
There is no cost to attend, but numbers are limited and bookings essential. For further information and to reserve your seat visit www.energyopportunityworkshops.eventbrite.com.au
