The two sides meet at Lady Cutler 2 this round, following vastly different fortunes after the first set of fixtures of the 2016/17 season.
The men in red sit clear at the top of the ladder after just one round, having scored a hugely impressive outright win over CYMS.
Rugby come into this round desperate to improve on its round one effort, following a convincing loss to South Dubbo.
Colts showed talent with both bat and ball in the win over CYMS, with Ben Semmler and Nathan Jones taking six wickets each while Wes Giddings scored 77 in his side’s first innings.
Captain Jason Ryan was delighted with the all-round talent of his side, especially so given the minor contributions from the likes of Marty Jeffrey, Brad Cox and Matt Keenan, and the team is further boosted this round with they return of Greg Buckley.
Buckley will add a huge amount to both facets of Colts’ play with his classy top order battling and off-spin.
“He just knows a lot about the game,” fellow spinning all-rounder Jeffrey said of Buckley.
“For myself it’s always good to play with him because I learn a lot and he’s a good addition.”
Jordan Moran, Nathan Munro and Chris Russo will be key for Rugby with the bat while there’s a lot of bowling options, with James O’Brien, Blake Watmore, Dan Horrocks, Strath Munro and Jacob Bruce all capable of taking the new ball.
