This will be the first time that the local Newcastle Permanent branch has held a Cinema Under the Stars event in Dubbo, but staff say they expect big crowd numbers.
The bank opened in Dubbo four months ago and since then the local community has been very welcoming, branch lending manager Vanessa Muddiman said.
“The Dubbo community has welcomed us since the branch opened in August,” she said.
“This Cinema event is our chance to give back.”
The Cinema Under the Stars is a free, family friendly event that will not only include a range of fun activities for everyone to enjoy, but will feature the blockbuster screening of Zootopia.
Entry is free, and everyone is welcome to bring a picnic rug as they enjoy a fun afternoon out, with a complimentary water and popcorn top enjoy while watching the movie.
Crowd numbers at other central west Newcastle Permanent branches, such as Orange and Mudgee, have about 3000 people attend their Cinema Under the Stars events, and Ms Muddiman is hopeful Dubbo can see similar numbers.
“Hopefully if there’s a good crowd in attendance we can hold this event annually,” Dubbo Newcastle Permanent branch manager Sam Theobald said.
“We expect a really good turnout from the community, because they’ve been so good to us,” she said.
Newcastle Permanent CEO Terry Millett said the organisation understands how much regional communities across NSW look forward to our Cinema Under the Stars events, and as a customer-owned organisation it is just one of the many ways they are giving back to communities that support them.
The Dubbo Newcastle Permanent Cinema Under the Stars event will be held at Caltex Park, Saturday, November 12, with entertainment beginning at 5:30pm, and the movie screening at sunset. The event will include musical performances from Stu Larsen and Grace Fuller.
