The record for the highest annual rainfall since 1994 belongs to 1998 when 851mm was recorded at Dubbo City Regional Airport.
At 9am on Tuesday the city had received 720.6mm of rain in 2016, including 7.4mm in the previous 24 hours.
Average annual rainfall for Dubbo is 570.8, almost 150mm less than the city has currently received.
January, June July and September have boosted the tally for 2016 with falls of 122.8mm, 151.6mm, 105.2 mm and 157.8mm, respectively.
Comparative average rainfall for the four months is 59.9mm, 53.8mm, 44.8mm and 46.1mm.
They compensated for below-average rainfall in February, March and April of 3.2mm, 16.2mm and 25 mm, respectively.
In an average year they get 45.5mm, 55.3mm and 35.1mm.
A total of 55.4mm of rain fell in May 2016, more than the month’s average of 42.9mm.
August 2016 received 50.4mm, well above the month’s average of 35.9mm.
At 9am on Tuesday Dubbo had received a total of 33mm this October.
Another 13.4mm of rain is needed for it to catch October 2015 when 46.4mm of rain fell. Average rainfall for the city in October is 43.2mm.
This month’s temperatures will also have to climb if they are to to match the heat experienced 12 months ago.
In October 2015 the average maximum temperature was 29.9 degrees Celsius and the average minimum 13 degrees.
Fourteen of its 31 days experienced top temperatures exceeding 30 degrees with October 6 the hottest day of the month at 35.2 degrees and October 18 the hottest morning at 21.6. degrees.
Average maximum and minimum temperatures for the month of October in Dubbo are 25.1 and 9.3 degrees.
On Tuesday the average maximum and minimum temperatures for October 2016 were 21.3 and 7.3 degrees.
Residents woke to 2.1 degrees on October 12 and 3.4 degree on Tuesday.
Average rainfall in Dubbo in October, November and December is 43.2mm, 62.8mm and 59.2mm, respectively.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting light showers on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
