The 25 riders, who will perform an array of incredible riding stunts including world-first attempts, are in training. Tickets went on sale on Sunday and are available from nitrocircus.live.
Dubbo will be the first stop on a 14-city Australian Nitro Circus 10th anniversary tour.
In the build-up, it’s been non-stop months of flips and tricks for freestyle motocross rider Steve Mini, a Mudgee local who will be one of the riders in Nitro Circus Live in Dubbo in March.
“I’m excited about this one. I want it to be the best one possible. Doing it in Dubbo is probably the closest I’ll ever get to my hometown of Mudgee,” he said.
Mr Mini has been with Nitro Circus since the beginning, racking up almost 200 shows.
He got into FMX simply by riding motorbikes around the farm with his brother. The little jumps got bigger, as did the tricks and eventually he joined the Crusty Demons. After that he became part of the Nitro team.
“I’m a bit older now so I’m a bit more nervous than when I started but I love the job,” Mr Mini said.
“I definitely get nervous. It’s when you don’t get nervous that mistakes happen.”
His signature trick is the backflip heel-clicker superman no-hander landing. And it’s as complicated as the name sounds.
However, it’s the Nitro Bomb, where each rider does a backflip at the same time, that Mr Mini said was one of his favourites - and possibly one of the most dangerous - parts of the show.
Nitro has promised some of the biggest tricks in action sports, including many never-before attempted world firsts, however Mr Mini was tight-lipped on what they would be.
“You’ll have to come and see. They’re tricks I didn’t think were possible a few years ago, even 12 months ago. You’ll just have to get down there and see it,” Mr Mini said.
It was one of the biggest tours Nitro Circus had ever done, he said, with some of the best riders in the world.
“I’ve seen the show progress. It’s a show I’m proud to be a part of,” Mr Mini said.
