Fourteen drivers from New Zealand made the trip to Dubbo for the Rotax Pro Tour series final to add some extra rivalry to the meeting.

The competitors from across the Tasman arrived in Australia on Thursday and at a soggy Lincoln County Raceway on Friday morning.
Most competitors had seen the track before at previous Rotax events and were familiar with the layout.
Rotax Heavy competitor from New Zealand Brendon Hart said the lure of racing against strong opposition led him to join the Australian series.
“We’ve got some great drivers in New Zealand but over here six to 10 drivers can win whereas in New Zealand it’s probably three or four.”
He said it was a big commitment to travel to Australia regularly for races but was necessary to compete at a higher level.
“If you want to get to the pointy end, that's what you have to do and if you can run with those guys it puts you in good stead when you go back to New Zealand,” he said.
