Like so many meeting recently, stewards were forced to call it off after a check of the track on Thursday afternoon suggested it wouldn’t be fit for racing.
Approximately 14 millimetres of rain fell on the track in the early hours of Thursday and forced the postponement.
The meeting could be rescheduled for Sunday if conditions allow.
A meeting at Mudgee on Saturday is also in doubt, with seven millimetres of rain leaving the track rated as a heavy 10.
Stewards are expected to make a decision on Friday or Saturday morning about whether that meeting will go ahead.
Two other meetings at Wagga Wagga and Bundarra scheduled for Saturday have also been cancelled.
Meanwhile a meeting originally scheduled for Forbes on Saturday, October 8 has been moved to Wellington.
With Forbes still heavily affected by flooding, the decision was made early to shift the meeting.
