For a young gelding Headmaster has already racked up a sizeable number of starts for the Georges Plains trainer, with his 17th to come on Friday, and he’s starting to hit some form.
Headmaster got his first career win two starts back earlier this month and followed that up with a third place result, showing some promise going into a new season.
Hewitt’s runner carries some of the best form into this race but will be tested thanks to a tricky start, three wide on the second row.
Headmaster will be aiming for fourth consecutive top three finishes when he makes a start in the 12-strong race.
Hewitt has the drive on the gelding for the first time in 11 runs.
The seven-race meeting starts from 6.02pm.
