Gasfield Free Dubbo convener Sally Forsstrom, Margaret Evans and Shirley Colless are protesting coal seam gas (CSG) mining in the nearby Liverpool Plains.
The anti-CSG movement had a win recently when the state government bought back BHP Billiton’s Caroona coal exploration licence, but Ms Forsstrom said the fight is not over.
“Although the Caroona licence has been withdrawn the Shenua mine has not,” she said.
“We have to keep up our presence here so people know there’s a lot of people who are concerned and who will be affected.”
