After a month where they have already received more than 125mm of rain, the flow on effect of the Forbes floods will see the Lachlan River peak at close to 7.2 metres next Wednesday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, with residents bracing for the wet conditions.
Sam Colwell from the SES believes everything is being done to prepare.
“There are resources already on the ground in Condobolin preparing for the rising water,” Sam said.
“There is already widespread flooding in the area and the forecast rain, as well as the flow on from the Forbes floods, will see the water peak next Wednesday.
“Further rains which are forecast could see even more flooding to come.
“People have been filling sand bags for the past two weeks.”
Thursday’s added rainfall will only make that task all the more difficult for the crews on the ground.
