Natalie Bramble Management is a finalist in Community Involvement, Excellence in Customer Service, Presentation and Marketing, Excellence in Small Business and Sustainability. Ms Bramble is also a finalist in the Business Leader category.
It was the first time the business had sent in a nomination in eight years, Ms Bramble said.
“We didn’t initially decide to enter so many but when you look at the category, we though ‘we’ve made achievements there’,” she said.
“Business awards are always a good process in that it is in essence asking you ‘what are your goals?’ and ‘tell us the evidence, demonstrate that you’re actually making an achievement and working towards them’.”
A large percentage of what Natalie Bramble Management does is assisting non-for-profit organisations write grant and tender applications, Ms Bramble said. Across the ten years the business has been operating she said they’ve helped deliver $28.2 million in funding.
“Ninety-four per cent of our business is repeats and referrals. People know we do a good job. We ‘delight and deliver’ as I like to say,” she said.
For the business, the awards are a chance to reflect on their work. When submitting their sustainability application, Ms Bramble said they had considered what else the company could do and were already looking at installing a sunlight.
“You can write great stories but you need the results to back them up. There are businesses I know that didn’t achieve finalist status and they’re doing some amazing things, and they did say it was quite competitive,” Ms Bramble said.
She encouraged more businesses to get involved.
“At the end of the day it’s a really good process to go through whether you’re a finalist or not because it really adds value to your business through that self-reflection, and to be a finalist is a pretty cool thing,” Ms Bramble said.
The winners will be announced October 21.
