The similarly uncapped Dan Worrall, from South Australia, was preferred in what many suggest is a positive sign for the Yeoval-born tearaway.
With the Ireland game little more than a warm-up, experts are suggesting Tremain’s omission is part of preparation to unleash him on South Africa in the first ODI later this week.

Worrall gets the first crack after Australian coach Darren Lehmann foreshadowed uncapped quicks Worrall, Tremain, a former Orange District Cricket Association cricketer of the year, and Joe Mennie will all make their debuts on the tour. Australia takes on South Africa for the first time on Friday.
Smith said that he tuned into some of the ODI between South Africa and Ireland, where the home team scored a thumping 206-run win against an Irish outfit that was found wanting in most aspects of the game.
