At Dubbo the river peaked at 4.87 metres around 10am on Monday and fell gradually throughout the day.
Downstream at Narromine the river was expected to peak near 8.0 metres on Tuesday morning, while major flooding was easing below 9.20 metres at Warren.
A renewed river rise is expected at Warren on Thursday, with a predicted peak of 9.0 metres.
The NSW State Emergency Service has warned increased releases from Burrendong Dam (which sits around 134 per cent) are possible over the next 24 hours, which could produce further river rises.
Minor flooding of the Macquarie River is expected to continue at Wellington as a result of ongoing dam releases, with water levels set to reach 6.5 metres on Tuesday morning.
Further west the Bogan River peaked near 5.5 metres at Dandaloo on Sunday, with moderate flood levels expected to peak near 3.6 metres at Nyngan on Saturday.
