Bella has made it onto Fortune’s 18 under 18 list. A compilation the magazine described as the “most innovative and ambitious teens under 18 years old”.
The young entrepreneur started travel review site Kidzcationz last year but her impressive resume extends further than the website.
She’s started a petition calling for airlines to modify their planes for disabled passengers, is working to raise awareness of youth suicide, represented Australia in the Chasing the Sun Challenge and writes for magazines in the United States and United Kingdom.
“My life motto is ‘if you think it, you can do it’ and that’s the best advice I can give to people,” Bella said.
“It doesn’t hurt to ask and it’s okay to get a ‘no’.”
Bella said she believed she was chosen for the list due to her awareness of the world, and her desire to enact social change. However she admits at first she didn’t understand the significance of making the list.
“I’ve actually heard of a few of the other people [on the list]. Everybody on it is doing amazing things and I think it’s just amazing I made it on there,” she said.
Bella was ranked ninth of the 18.
The best part about life in the business world was the people she had met, the entrepreneur said, but also the changes she had seen within herself.
“I’m a lot more confident and that’s definitely the main thing. Being on live TV just boosts your confidence. For example, I used to get really nervous doing presentations at school but after being on TV or radio even you think ‘yeah, I’ve got this’. You still get a bit nervous but it’s not as bad,” Bella said.
The next project for Bella will be all about Dubbo.
“We want to go around Dubbo and do a blog and go to all the tourist attractions. We want to go to the places people don’t really know of and just promote Dubbo and try and bring tourists out here,” she said.
However, in the short term the teen said she wanted to have a bit of quiet time and study for her school exams.
As for her achievements, Bella said simply, “it’s been fun”.
