The popular Supercars driver and transport parade will take its usual route up William Street to Kings Parade, kicking-off a jam-packed week on Wednesday, October 5 at 11.30am.
Bathurst mayor Gary Rush said having the parade running again this year is great news.
“Fifty-four drivers will take part in the parade and they will be travelling in open top vehicles,” Cr Rush said.
“Fans will have a great opportunity to get photos of their favourite drivers.
“The parade will be followed by the driver signing session before the unveiling of the 2015 winner’s plaque.”
A meet-and-greet opportunity will be at the Kings Parade from 12.15pm, where Supercars drivers will sign autographs, and there will be kids’ activities, V8 utes and a barbecue available.
Thursday night will be an opportunity for fans to listen in on two legends of the Bathurst 1000.
“On Thursday the Legendary Moments dinner will be held at Rydges featuring Philip Brock and Paul Morris,” Cr Rush said.
Tickets to the dinner can be purchased online from the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) website.
BMEC will also host the V8 Ball on Friday night, which will include a three-course meal, live entertainment from Andy Mammers and Crash Avenue and a charity auction.
Stars of the movie Cars will be on show during the Saturday street fair, with opportunities to race and play through the Cars-themed slide obstacle course.
Fans will have a great opportunity to get photos of their favourite drivers.
- Mayor Gary Rush
“For the first time, the Saturday street fair will feature a Disney activation zone with special guests Lightning McQueen and Mack the Transporter, the stars of the Disney-Pixar movie Cars,” Cr Rush said.
There will be an opportunity for children to watch the movie later on, with rides for big kids too, for only $2.
The street fair will offer a relaxing day before the big race, as people can wander through the food and market stalls while enjoying the local entertainment.
