The Coffee and Tea Exchange owner has already open the doors to the Christmas decor shop upstairs of the cafe.
While it may seem like the festive season is a long time away, Ms Powyer said people were already buying and laybying decorations like the Elf of the Shelf, nativity scenes, table decorations and Mark Roberts collectables.
“I love Christmas. I’m OCD at Christmas. For November and December we don’t cook in the house, we don’t watch TV because there’s so where to sit, and my husband can’t stay still or he’ll get covered in tinsel,” Ms Powyer said.
“We have over 30 Christmas trees.
“I’m looking at everything in here and I probably have all of it too. If I see something I like I order it for myself as well.”
While birthdays were special, Ms Powyer said it was Christmas that had her heart.
“Even people in the street seem to have happy vibes. Everyone seems to love it,” she said.
Until October the Macquarie Street store is open on Sundays and selected days of the week from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
And while it’s only a small shop now, Ms Powyer said she had plans to expand to a bigger location, and introduce craft workshops.
“I think Dubbo is ready fro a Christmas shop,” she said.
