It’s an initiative started by teacher Holly Cronk to ensure students were eating the most important meal of the day, while also encouraging social skills.
Dubbo College Delroy Campus principal Debbie Head said it was inspirational to see what Ms Cronk had established.
“The students are learning social skills and developing relationships with each other,” Ms Head said.
“It’s a lot more than just breakfast. They’re talking with each other and that’s just as important as nutrition.”
The breakfast, which is part of Kellogg’s Breakfast Buddies program, is run five days a week, and Ms Cronk said while students were wary of it at first, each day the number of participants was growing.
The program has been supported locally by Midwest Foods, Village Hot Bake, West Dubbo IGA and Inland Distributors.
Midwest Foods retail manager Belinda Roberts said she was happy to be part of the program.
