Gulgong Terriers took a step closer to defending last year’s Grand Final win after beating Coonabarabran Unicorns in a tough contest 36-24 at Gulgong on Saturday.

Coonabarabran got off to a great start scoring in the first few minutes. The Terriers eventually fought back and lead into half-time 14-4.
Midway through the second half the Terriers looked to be in a comfortable position before a comeback from the unicorns but Gulgong held on for a 36-24 win.
The Gilgandra Panthers booked themselves a spot in the Bendigo Bank Castlereagh League Grand Final when they got over the top of the Coonamble Bears 40-24 in the major semi-final played at Gilgandra on Sunday.
Although the Panthers have won their last three encounters it must be said that the Bears have improved every time and it was certainly very physical game.
The Panthers have a week off while the Bears will host the Terriers in the preliminary final at Bear Park, Coonamble.
