The Magpies travel to Dubbo on Saturday to take on Macquarie in another do-or-die match, with only Jarrod Reid remaining out through injury.
Defence has been the focus for the first grade side after Parkes fought back last week and made the match a much closer one than the Magpies faithful would have liked.
Mistakes at crucial times also need to be cut out, according to coaching coordinator Cameron Greenhalgh.
“We’ve got the defence sorted out,” he said.
“We will be looking for a better game against Macquarie because we will need one.
“The attitude at training this week was excellent. Everyone wants to continue in the competition.”
As always, the Magpies forward pack featuring the likes of captain-coach Jake Grace, Zac Merritt and Ben Maguire will be key while Nick Greenhalgh was instrumental at half last week.
