The most recent action at Dubbo Pistol Club began with Air Pistol last Friday evening and while the quantity may not have been there but the quality certainly was with three competitors taking part.

Richard Wheatley came out on top with 578 (489, 69), while Martin Cook second with 568 (520, 48) and Greg Pollock third with 534 (469, 65). Warren Johnson was Range Officer.
Sunday saw 11 take part in in a Standard Pistol match. The Stanfords came out in force and outperformed the field with some excellent precision shooting. Phyllis took first with 670 (370, 300) and Peter came second with 625 (325, 300).
Margie Stevens also had a brilliant day taking third and best off-pistol score with 595 (507, 88). Other results were Geoff Luck 587 (353, 234), Brian McMullen 577 (354, 223), Jon Bohan 569 (411, 158), Peter Caligeros 540 (467, 73), Jim Strachan 533 (340, 193), Ned Williams 533 (343, 190), Bob Dowling 527 (505, 22) and Bruce Dowling 473 (380, 93).
Next weekend will be a 50 Metre Rifle on Saturday and Standard Pistol on Sunday while the club’s AGM will be held on Sunday, August 21 from 1pm.
The Western Plains ISSF Championships will be staged on September 2-4 at the Dubbo Pistol Club.
The club really needs volunteers to help on that weekend. The morning sessions kick off at 8.30am but there is also an afternoon session on Saturday and help is required for both sessions.
