They may have different tastes in gowns, flowers and venues but some brides-to-be at Dubbo agree planning a wedding is an enormous labour of love.

With fiances, mums, sisters or friends at their side, the engaged-to-be-married looked for ideas at the Dubbo Bridal and Event Expo on Sunday.
For Tessa Fletcher the countdown is on - the big day is just under six weeks away.
“It’s a massive job, but I’m getting married in Brisbane,” she said.
“Everything is done except for the flowers.
“In the last week everything has come together.”
Therese Jones was beginning the planning of her wedding in November next year.
“It’s a bit overwhelming, but exciting,” she said.
“The proposal was unexpected, a big surprise, so I came today to find some ideas.”
Ms Jones said her fiance was keen to take part in planning the wedding.
“I’m here to get some ideas, but then go home and discuss them,” she said.
Emily Clow enjoyed an afternoon out at the bridal fair just two weeks after she and Matt Cook became engaged.
There’s many decisions to be made before they walk down the aisle in October next year.
“I’ll give him options, but I’ll have the last say,” she said with a laugh.
Sandy Kingston said she was enjoying planning for her wedding in April next year.
“I’m having lots of fun, keeping it casual and I want my guests to have fun,” she said.
Bridal fair coordinator Jan Grady said a big crowd had attended to see 62 stallholders at the annual expo.
“Brides and grooms, bridesmaid, friends and people having a day out,” she said.
“It’s been a huge effort to revamp a 38-year-old event, but it’s worth it.
“And I hope everyone enjoyed the results of what the exhibitors and organisers have put together to create an amazing wow-factor regional bridal expo encompassing many precincts this year.”
The Meadow - Floral Design was the winner of the Daily Liberal Excellence in Stand Presentation Award at the expo.
“We are so excited and happy that everyone is enjoying our florally garden today,” Irissa Knight from The Meadow said.
Prizes were given away throughout the day and couples battled it out in Battle of the Brides activities.
There were five entries in the Bride of the Year Quest, with the Charity Bride of the Year, Charity Bride of the Year Runner-Up and Popular Bride of the Year titles up for grabs as participants raised funds for Clare’s Angels.
