The $15 million development will take about 12 months to complete, employing up to 100 tradespeople during the construction phase and 60 when it is up and running.
The facility will offer low care, high care and dementia rooms.
Kintyre Living’s chief executive officer Nick Carter said local tradespeople would be used for the work, and supplies would be sourced locally when the aged care facility was opened.
“I think it’s expected we’ll probably inject about $1 million back into the community every year,” he said.
The aged care rooms are something that were always planned for Kintyre, Mr Carter said.
“It’ll be a five star aged care facility, not the perception people have of aged care being a daggy, old nursing home. It’ll be somewhere where they’s want to live and receive the necessary care,” he said.
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said it was a “magnificent” development.
“I have great admiration for the owners here at Kintyre to have the confidence to invest in an 80 bed facility. That’s a huge facility in terms of aged care,” Mr Coulton said.
