Dubbo Cycle Club held the second leg of its annual Club Championships on Saturday, with the 17km individual time trial being contested in idyllic conditions by five grades of riders on the Wongarbon course.

Young guns Adam Mitchell (winner – 24 minutes 3.02 seconds – average speed 42.41km/hour) and Kurt Eather (second - +00:00.42) were separated by less than half a second for the top two positions in A-grade, with Chris Couper (+00:14.34) in third ahead of Mike Ticehurst (+00:43.45) in fourth and Tim Hines (+01:04.14) in fifth.
Dylan Eather upstaged his older rivals to win B-grade (26 minutes 18.20 seconds – average speed 38.78km/hour) with Darrell Wheeler in second (+00:13.42), Mark Arnold (+01:41.42) in third, Alex Russell (+02:15.99) in fourth and Matt Fuller (+02:23.63) in fifth.
NSW Masters time trial champion Jeff Sargent won the C-grade (27 minutes 46.16 seconds – average speed 36.73km/hour) over Danny Barber (+1:02.65), Gary Barber (+1:09.72), Haylee Fuller (+1:42.83) and Craig Granger (+2:01.57).
Just under 10 seconds separated the top three riders in D-grade as Sam Peacocke (31 minutes 37.37 seconds – average speed 32.36km/hour) recording the fastest time ahead of Sarah Gordon (+00:00.14 seconds), Brodie Wheeler (+00:09.88), Cat Fuller (+00:38.84) and Zara Fuller (+00:45.39).
Zac Fuller (34 minutes 50.21 seconds – average speed 29.28km/hour) was the winner of E-grade over Jason Canobie in second (+1:20.76), Michelle Fuller (+1:20.82) in third, Lauren Fuller (+5:21.87) in fourth and Trent Hines (+6:24.68) in fifth.
Round 14 of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Racing Series continues on Saturday 13th August on the Mogriguy course with a 38km handicap.
The final points score round of the series will be held on Saturday 20th August on the 50km Wongarbon long course.
David Gerrish and Adam Mitchell travelled south to Wagga for the annual John Woodman Memorial Handicap – which is a 135km race from Wagga to Albury.
Gerrish (group three) was unfortunately dropped from his group after 60km of high-tempo racing, while Mitchell was able to regain some of the form that saw him win the Cootamundra Classic and place fourth in the under-19 national road race.
The talented young rider finished only 5 seconds behind the Jacob Kauffman (fastest time winner) and averaged 47.5km/hour for the 135km event.
A number of Dubbo Cycle Club will head to Mudgee this weekend for the Mark Dwyer Handicap on Saturday and the Oatley Graded Scratch races on Sunday.
Adam Mitchell (+26 minutes), Tim Hines (+10 minutes) Chris Couper (+10 minutes), David Gerrish (+10 minutes), Mike Ticehurst (+10 minutes), Darrell Wheeler (limit group) and Sarah Gordon (limit group) will contest the 90km event, which was won by Dubbo riders Matt Fuller in 2010 and Gerrish in 2011.
Mitchell (division one – 120km), Hines (division three – 80km), Gerrish (division three – 80km) and Mike Ticehurst (division three – 80km) will contest the Oatley Grade Scratch races.
The women’s scratch race to be headlined by the inclusion of Rebecca Wiasak, who is the reigning women’s world individual pursuit champion on the track.
