The Rabbitohs possess some outstanding attacking talents but inconsistency has cruelled their season and they have just one win to their name.
But with matches against CYMS and sixth-placed Narromine over the next two weeks, Westside could have a big say on how the regular season ends.
The Fishies are gunning for an unbeaten season and will start as hot favourites but Robbie Dunn and his men will be keen to bounce back from last week’s heavy loss to Parkes.
A worry for the Rabbitohs is the fact only one of their key attacking quartet – Steve Riley, Paul Jones Jnr, Josh Trindall and Peter Boon – has been named.
Riley will start at halfback but the backline has potential with Sam Coe at fullback, while CJ Ralph and Nathan Ryan will line up in the centres, inside wingers Blaize Fuller and Jarrin Fernando.
The final match of the round is shaping as a crucial one at Narromine, with the Jets playing host to Parkes.
The Jets got themselves right back into the finals hunt with a win over Forbes last week and a win on Sunday could see them enter the top five for the first time since round seven.
Parkes will be full of confidence after captain-coach Dennis Moran led the Spacemen to a dominant 68-6 win over Westside last round.
Both fixtures begin with League Tag at 11am while the first grade matches will kick off at 2.30pm.
