Peter was named the CYMS Under-16s Player of the Year and was warmly received by the large crowd present.
Peter plays front row or back row in the Bradley Clyde mould. Just like the former Canberra star from the 90s, Peter is big and strong, fast and equally effective in both attack and defence.
About 150 players, and their parents, were present at St John's Primary Hall to celebrate and reflect on a successful season of junior rugby league.
Other highlights were awards for under-16s twins Jesse and Mitchell Dunlop. Jesse was awarded the best and fairest in the 16s and Mitchell won the prestigious CYMS scholarship.
Talented under-12 player Matt Burton was named Mod Player of the Year.
Club president for 2012 John Walkom thanked the committee, and especially highlighted the work club registrar Cathy Dries, secretary Isabelle Karydis and social director Lou Dickson did behind the scenes in keeping the club running.
Shawn Townsend and Lynda Haksteeg were also thanked for their contribution to the club especially for the under-5s.
Also highlighted was Bernard Wilson's efforts in season 2012 coaching and administrating both at club and representative levels.
John Walkom also reflected on some of the proud history and tradition of the club, and spoke with enthusiasm about the 40-year celebrations held during the year.
The under-12 and 13 premiership winning teams were presented to the club on stage, while the rest of the club was paraded into the hall in a formal celebration.
Also present was CYMS under-18s premiership winner and Penrith Toyota Cup bound Isaah Yeo, who made several presentations to the under-16s.
Following the presentation and barbecue the committee started planning for the next season.
