The competition kicked off with its first round in early June but thanks to state championships in abundance, the second round had to be scheduled seven weeks later.
But, that hasn’t dimished anyone’s enthusiasm if you ask competition architect Scott Baker.
He said all four sides are champing at the bit to get back into the modified, attacking-based competition, particularly Alex Said and his Suzuki Strikers.
“Saidy and his Strikers are confident they can have another terrific round on Sunday and head into the final round without a loss,” Baker said.
The Renault Royals, last year’s champions, went winless through the opening round and will be up against it again on Sunday.
They, and the other sides, will be boosted by the fact the JDM Jokers will be without skipper Nic Milne who is on NSW Country duty in Darwin.
“Adam Hurford feels his Mazda Maulers are right in the hunt and could easily have a 3-1 record, had they not lost the only shoot-out of the first round against the Jokers,” Baker said.
The Volvo Vikings, skippered by Darryn Marjoram, look set to enter the winners’ circle on Sunday after adding a striker to their ranks in Troy Kenny.
The first game on Sunday kicks off at 10am – the Renault Royals playing the JDM Jokers – with games continuing until the final match-up at 4pm, where the Jokers will face the Mazda Maulers.
