Dubbo Petbarn store manager Tom Adams is encouraging residents to visit the store on August 8 and see the cats looking for homes.
There are about 10 cats at the Dubbo store, but Mr Adams said they usually stay there for no more than a week before they find a forever home.
“We’ve done 34 adoptions since the beginning of July. We’re the highest adoption shop in the company,” he said.
However the manager said the store was very strict on who took home the pets.
“If you’ve got other dogs at home you have to bring them in here and see how they get along with the dog. And it’s the same for the cats as well. If you’ve got kids you’ve got to see what they’re like with the animals.”
All cats are de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
Since Petbarn started working with the RSPCA 17,549 animals have been adopted from stores around Australia, Mr Adams said.
