Drivers who pull in beside Elston Park for a free sausage sandwich for breakfast will be given a flyer telling them “what to look for and who to contact”.
OSS is working with Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre and UnitingCare Burnside in trying to gain community support in reaching people in need of a permanent roof over their heads.
Chief executive officer Peter Gallagher said homelessness extended from people sleeping “under the bridge” to couch surfing and living with family.
The August 4 event will run from 7am to 10am as part of Homelessness Prevention Week.
