The winning team members on the Captain’s Shout Day were Ron Simpson, Ross Carolan, Peter Heyward and Alan Taylor.
The veteran golfers have a busy schedule of events planned for the coming months with an 18 hole 3BBB Championship sponsored by Hyundai on August 8 while the Harvey shield will be played in Mudgee on Tuesday, August 16 commencing with a shotgun start at 8.30am.
Preparations are also well underway for the Dubbo Vets Week of Golf to be held on September 19-23 with large numbers of entries from all over NSW.
The July presentation will be held this Friday, July 29 and the event scheduled is a 4BBB Aggregate Stableford.
Data has been collected over a period of 5 months leading to a change in the course rating, for veteran golfers, on all holes 1-27. The new rating will be up loaded onto the score cards and it will commence on August 1.
In the race for the Craig Mears Trophy, Bruce Sotherson leads the way on 514 points, ahead of Ron Simpson, Terry Sloggett, Les Taylor and Barry Harvey.
Simpson also leads the Clem Long Yearly Trophy Medal with 2015 points while Max Keating leads the Dubbo Vets Golfers Wednesday and Saturday competition by two points from Ray Walton.
