Tuesday’s meeting was originally meant to be held at Warren but the decison was made to relocate it on Friday following the recent rain.
Foreign Secretary heads to Gilgandra having run in the first two in her past four starts, with wins at Kempsey and Gunnedah recorded since late May.
On Tuesday she will jump from barrier 11 with champion jockey Greg Ryan onboard, with her last-start win at Gunnedah coming in a Benchmark 65 event.
The four-year-old is in the form of her life having only won twice from 24 starts until recent times.
Dubbo trainer Frank Hayes will also fancy his chances in the event, with his newcomer Tibidabo.
After winning her trial at Dubbo earlier this year, Tibidabo won on debut at Coonamble in March but hasn’t run since.
The three-year-old will jump from barrier nine with Mathew Cahill in the saddle at Gilgandra.
Ryan’s ride on Foreign Secretary is just one where he will fancy his chances, with the hoop also set to ride the consistent Playing Game for Dubbo trainer Dar Lunn in the Cattleman’s Handicap (1300m).
Playing Game scored wins at Narromine and Tamworth recently and followed that up with places at Dubbo and Mudgee.
Tuesday’s meeting at Gilgandra begins with the first at 12.42pm while the last will leave the barriers at 4.55pm.
