THERE’S nothing unusual about a Turnbull dominating a harness meeting in the central west, and that was the case again at Parkes Paceway on Sunday.

Nathan Turnbull piloted three winners on the eight-race program, his run starting when $3.50 chance Folk Art scored in the Parkes Farm Centre Pace (2040m).
In the following event he was aboard As Lowas They Come, which was sent around at odds of $9.70 and duly saluted, beating Sportygal ($1.50 fav, Steve Turnbull) in somewhat of an upset result.
Turnbull’s final winner came in the Sue Townsend Ladyship Pace when Dot Ayou ($3.50) was able to defeat race favourite Gubbata ($2.60, Robert Anderson) and Kamicatel ($27.50, Andrew Brooks).
While Nathan had a good day out, the same couldn’t be said for his father Steve.
The region’s leading trainer had a number of highly-fancied runners at the meeting, but walked away without tasting success.
