St Mary’s Primary School offered both practical and emotional support to aid the process of recovery from July 10’s suspicious blaze.
It held a mufti day on Thursday, with students coming out of uniform and giving a gold coin donation.
On Friday Buninyong principal Anne van Dartel and some students were invited to St Mary’s to receive the $700 fundraising total.
The St Mary’s children also made cards for the Buninyong community.
“The students included individual little thoughts they wanted to pass on,” St Mary’s acting principal Michael Quade said.
They also presented four pot plants as a symbol of growth for Buninyong’s rebuild, he said.
St Mary’s staff had earlier in the week arranged for afternoon tea to be sent to their colleagues down the road.
Mr Quade said they wanted to let the Buninyong teachers know they were thinking of them and supported them in the tough time since the fire.
