Police of varying ranks took the opportunity to mingle with community members in a comfortable setting at Coffee Club for the Coffee With A Cop promotion.
Coffee With A Cop originated in the United States and has been used in other areas of NSW, and the driving force behind the local initiative, Inspector Dan Skelly, said he is keen to see it grow.
“The response here today has been great and it gives us a base to work from,” Inspector Skelly said.
“It wasn’t about us gaining information, but rather listening to the public and helping them with solutions to problems they may be having.
“I spoke with one gentleman who has put forward a proposal that recognises P-plate drivers for safe driving.
“We’ll try and do it again before the end of the year and I’d love to spread it to places like Narromine, Wellington and Gilgandra.”
