CSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Vann said: "Foundation Day is about uniting the Charles Sturt University community and celebrating not only the traditional foundation of the University and its predecessors, but also the newly laid foundations and the future ahead.
"Foundation Day gives us the chance to come together as staff, students, alumni and community to celebrate what makes Charles Sturt University great and what we are striving to achieve," Professor Vann said.
“That is, improving education access for rural and regional communities and delivering graduates and research that will help our regions to thrive and prosper."
Professor Vann said: "Foundation Day is also a time to consider how we as members of the University community can further embrace the ethos of 'Yindymarra Winhanganha', a Wiradjuri phrase which means 'the wisdom of respectfully knowing how to live well in a world worth living in'."
The CSU community is invited to get involved in Foundation Day next Wednesday 20 July both in person at the activities happening across all campuses and online through the #celebrateCSU hashtag.
On campus events include red themed breakfasts, morning teas, lunches, a Where's Wally Night in Orange, an 80s Red Prom in Bathurst, and a Foundation Day Carnival in Wagga Wagga.
Through social media, CSU is sharing stories about amazing student, staff and alumni achievements and people are encouraged to take a selfie wearing red to show how they #celebrateCSU for Foundation Day.
The University community is also invited to donate to CSUgive which helps the CSU Foundation support more scholarships for the next generation of CSU students.
CSU celebrated its first Foundation Day in 2015 and it is now an annual event celebrated on the Wednesday of the week following 19 July.
This date marks the establishment of the University on 19 July 1989, when the Charles Sturt University Act was signed.
