And inmates Geoffrey Fieldsend and Richard Reginald Pretty may be travelling in a stolen Triton ute.
Police say Pretty has ties to Cobar and Fieldsend has ties to Dubbo.
Investigators re-appealed for public assistance as the search continued but urged the community not to approach the two men.
The pair was last seen at the minimum-security correctional centre at Ivanhoe about 6pm on Saturday.
They were noticed missing immediately, and a search was initiated.
Following inquiries, it’s believed the pair may be travelling in a stolen vehicle described as a Triton twin-cab, two-tone utility, with NSW registration plates “AQ46QL”, NSW Police have said in a media release.
The vehicle has a black-coloured upper-half, and a silver-coloured lower-half.
The vehicle was last sighted on Trida Road, Ivanhoe.
The media release said the pair may be heading towards the Cobar area, while Darling River Local Area Command said in a post on Facebook it was believed they may be heading towards Dubbo or Orange.
Police from Broken Hill and surrounding local area commands have warned those who spot the pair, not to approach them, but to instead to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Geoffrey Fieldsend, 30, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with a slim build, short blond hair and was last seen wearing prison greens.
Richard Pretty, 29, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of medium build, with short light-coloured hair, a short beard, and was also last seen wearing prison greens.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have two men matching these descriptions to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
