Rusty Motorbike was revving like a well-tuned Ferrari when racing to the chequered flag in the Clyde Cotton Enngonia Cup (1400m) on Saturday.

There was a case of irony around the meeting with racing at Enngonia having been washed for four of the past six years and while most other meetings around country NSW were abandoned, Saturday’s non-TAB meeting went ahead.
In the day’s feature race, Melbourne-based Grant Challinger established a big lead with Barakula as the Cup approached the home turn with Rodney Robb’s six-year-old gelding Rusty Motorbike the closest pursuer.
Rusty Motorbike ($5.50) then took control of the race and won by over two lengths from the $2 favourite Emerald Fortune (Crystal Conning) while Right Of Reply (Clayton Gallagher, $6) finished third.
A very excited Kazu Nakata, who is apprenticed to Robb at Nyngan, rode Rusty Motorbike which is owned by the trainer’s wife, Wendy Robb.
Nakata recently won the Coradgery Cup at Parkes on Tothecoastandback, which is trained by George Wright, who trained Enngonia Cup runner-up Emerald Fortune.
Apart from Rusty Motorbike’s success, Robb also won with Ring'N'Swing and Alice From Albury both ridden by his other apprentice, Clayton Gallagher.
Owned by Rodney Robb and Ian Cleaver, Ring'N'Swing ($3.40) ran down the pacemaker Snitzel's Lass (Tiffany Jeffries, $8) to win the Doug Egan Memorial Benchmark 53 Handicap (1000m) by one-and-a-quarter lengths while Steel Ears (Kazu Nakata, $3.20) was a similar distance away in third.
The Landmark Walsh Hughes Benchmark 45 Handicap (1150m) saw Alice From Albury ($4.60) race outside the leading Where's Roger before beating Inigo (Paul Payne, $6) while one-time leader Where's Roger (Tiffany Jeffries, $12) had to settle for third.
Dubbo jockey Paul Payne and Gulgong trainer Denis Consadine combined to win the Class 2 Handicap (1600m) with Beegees.
Beegees ($2.50 equal favourite) won by two lengths from My Girl Shirl (Clayton Gallagher, $2.50 equal favourite) and Strike Zone (James Geppert, $3.20).
Geppert has recently returned from Queensland and is riding track work at Dubbo, scored a double with his other win coming onboard Croissants ($3.50) and Warrior Of Peace ($3.60).
